Reminds me of this screed from a Breitbart blowhard complaining about how grown men like MLP: [link]
"All the while, as these pathetic sissies giggle like school girls over magic unicorns that spray rainbows from their horns, real men – and women – who have put aside the temptation to retreat into a frivolous fantasy world are tromping through the wilds of Afghanistan. Such young adults, some younger (in years) than the “bronies,” are protecting all of us – including these pathetic weirdos."
I wonder how this macho jarhead would react to learning there are bronies in the military? [link]
"I don't watch a cartoon for lil' girls, I need to uphold my masuclinity." "Watching ponies is the ultimate masculine stuff, so you have so little masulinity that you stay in the borders of what is generally manly."
I'm having a few girl traits. Throw rocks at me. I'm not sure why both some bronies, and some haters have to care about their "manliness", like it'd be their life essence.... it is hilarious.
I think you missed the point entirely. This isn't mocking anyone who doesn't like MLP for reasons other than "It's too girly". It's mocking those that believe that you shouldn't watch MLP, for the sole reason that you are a man.
I don't mean i don't like it because it's girly. It's just...idk when i see it, it seems almost to happy and bright. I just have a more darker view of things i guess. Idk i have a few freinds who enjoy it though.
Yes i have in matter of fact. It's really good. And i admit, i do like fluffy things somtimes (i'm a fan of furries after all) but thats more of my old self that is still there. Idk, i'm really confusing somtimes with what i like and disslike.
That wasn't sarcasm, I was actually being serious. I am genuinely insecure about masculinity. Which is why I find it hard to bring myself to watch MLP:FiM. I have no problem admitting my fondness for cats, however, which is also considered non-masculine.
I think your missing the point. This is for all the whiners out there that claim that men shouldn't be watching the show solely based on the fact that they are a man. If you don't find the appeal that is cool.
